Mouthguards are essential instruments for dental protection and treatment. But over time, they become a minefield of bacteria, and there is no easy routine to keep them properly clean.
GuardWash is a tabletop device for the home that automates regular mouthguard cleaning, making it effortless for the user and therefore reducing the barrier to a consistent oral health routine. It harnesses the antimicrobial power of enzymes, UV light and ultrasound to improve both the experience and the results.
A clean design for a clean experience
Far from the standard medical-grade aesthetic, the soft lines, translucent materials, neutral colours and matt finishes give a sophisticated and genderless look to a tabletop appliance designed to seamlessly integrate in the home.
One button - one cycle
The device detaches from its cable, making each module easier to handle. A light ring visually displays how far from completion the cleaning process is.
As simple as that.
Simply add fresh water
Let the device run its cycle (UV light, ultrasonic and enzymatic washing and rinsing) while you’re out of the house, and have your clean-as-new mouth guard ready for you before bed.
Intuitive, effortless and quiet
With gravity doing most of the work, it felt natural that the form factor and affordance of the product should follow the logic of the cleaning process. The three modules stack upon each other and, in doing so, define the character of the device.
Details like the gentle cutout of the button and funnelled recess of the lid guide the user without instructions.
